Karyn Andersen, Principal

This is my 33rd year in education and I am proud to say that they have all been in Chesterfield County. I was a special education teacher, coordinator, liaison and assistant principal at J.B. Watkins prior to coming to Clover Hill Elementary School. I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Longwood College and my Masters in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University.

My family is incredibly special to me. I have a wonderfully supportive husband of 29 years, two children 25 and 23. In my spare time, I love to run, sit on the beach, and spend time relaxing with my family.

A meaningful education for each child is my top priority. I love going into classrooms and seeing students engaged in learning through a fun hands on approach. I am excited to continue working with staff, students, and the community at Clover Hill in my role as Principal!  Please do not hesitate to reach out any time with questions, thoughts, or ideas!

Amanda Holt, Assistant Principal

My career in education began in Henrico County as a second grade teacher after graduating from James Madison University (Go Dukes!).  While at JMU, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies and then a Master’s Degree in the Art of Teaching.  While teaching second, third and fourth grades in Henrico, I became interested in gifted education and attended the University of Virginia and earned an endorsement in Gifted Education.  In 2014, I began teaching 4th grade at Salem Church Elementary in Chesterfield County. Following that, I served as the Title I math teacher and Instructional Designer at Salem.  In the spring of 2020, I completed a Post-Master’s certificate in Administration and Supervision at the University of Richmond before joining the Clover Hill family!

I grew up in Chesterfield County and graduated from Monacan High School.  My husband and I currently live in Chesterfield County with our 3 children.  As a family, we love going to the beach, playing outside, riding bikes, and reading together.  In my spare time,I enjoy reading books, exercising, and crafting.

My vision is that each student is prepared to thrive in future endeavors and will become a lifelong learner who positively impacts the community.  I am committed to building a strong academic foundation in a safe, nurturing environment, and I am dedicated to supporting families and advocating for all students.  It is an honor to join the CHES family, and I look forward to building relationships with our students, staff, parents and community members.  My door is always open, so please feel free to reach out and contact me!

Shelby Bartilotti, Assistant Principal

Hi Clover Hill Families,

My name is Shelby Bartilotti, and I am joining this year as an additional Assistant Principal at Clover HIll Elementary. I am so excited to continue my journey with the Clover Hill Cubs this upcoming school year. I am a product of Chesterfield County, graduating from Thomas Dale High School. After graduating from college, I felt the drive to return and work for the community I grew up in. I currently live with my husband, Tim, and our dog, Waffle (who is QUITE the personality) in Chesterfield County. In my spare time, I enjoy all things Notre Dame and Bills football, Taylor Swift, and trivia nights. My last eight years working in Chesterfield County Public Schools have reinforced what an excellent decision it was to return home.

From my role as a special education teacher to serving as an Assistant Principal, I have recognized two things. First, every single child is capable of amazing growth and success, and second, our families are the experts on their children. When families and schools are able to come together in equal partnership, our children excel. We can work together to empower our students to meet their full potential through open communication, trust, and reaching a common goal. As we forge ahead for the upcoming school year, I would love to work collaboratively to instill a growth mindset in each child, prepare each child to be global citizens, and ensure that they are ready to create a better tomorrow.

Driven by the core belief that Clover Hill students are capable, caring, and leaders, this school community can achieve this by focusing on all the opportunities our students have to capitalize on their development. As we navigate the upcoming school year, we must stay together as a community to ensure that our students keep our students’ thirst for knowledge and encourage them to stay excited about learning. I am available via email at shelby_bartilotti@ccpsnet.net or by phone at 804-739-6220. I look forward to meeting with you all and building a strong partnership.
